My favorite kid’s book is Collection of Nursery Rhymes. It  helped me read as a child. I had difficulty reading at the Early stage of my learning. My mum knew I love to play a lot as a kid, so I guess she felt that the only way I could be serious with reading was to play while learning to read. she bought me the book and she would read it to me, I love the poems, I would sing them aloud while playing, before we both realized it ,I started pronouncing words on my own, that change my ability to read till today. I have bought a copy of my Treasury of Nursey Rhymes for my daughter as well; she loves me reading it to her. This way she is gradually building her vocabulary added with conversations I have with her .
Nursery Rhymes helps children develop pre—reading skill, which is the first step to becoming a good reader, as they hear ,sing or read this rhymes, they develop the ability to detect sounds that make up individual words. This fosters the child interest in books and reading. Rhymes introduce them to new vocabulary which increases their comprehension and benefits learning in general.

  1. My son always likes to recite these songs and repeat words that he hears .Actually I notice a great improvement on his pronunciation. Thus, I do a agree with you that nursery rhymes is very important, it doesn’t offer only entertainment value, but also promote children‘s social skills, boost their language development and expand their imagination. Nursery rhymes help children to learn and remember new words and give them confidence to speak with strangers. In addition, listening to nursery rhymes can also help them to become a good readers and speakers in early age.
